Materials & Craftsmanship
The world of Carré Royal is, above all, an invitation to discover materials that are sensual, rich, unique, and alive.
It is a visual and tactile exploration of colors.
Each color truly has its own unique feel… a yellow leather wallet does not feel the same as a cognac wallet, which itself feels different from a navy blue or a burgundy leather wallet. All of this is far removed from the coldness of algorithms.
When you receive our creations, I invite you to experience this touch, this density.
Each material has its own tactile and aesthetic potential.
Understanding this potential is one of the keys to designing and crafting a beautiful object.
The Carré Royal team carefully selects noble materials, whether traditional or innovative.
As a result, our collections are intended for connoisseurs and lovers of fine materials who wish to discover these unique sensations and take part in this adventure.
Each hide is individually selected by hand for its feel, its grain, and its suppleness.
We collaborate with some of the finest tanneries in the world. Some were founded over 100 years ago and possess unique expertise. They comply with the most rigorous environmental standards.
We also work with traditional textile workshops (coated canvas, Harris Tweed, etc.).
Our partners are located in France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, as well as Japan and the United Kingdom.
Our materials are chosen to last, to be shaped over time by patina and by each individual’s use.
As our leathers are as natural as possible, each hide has its own particular density and each color its own distinctive feel. This makes every item truly unique. Each tannin has specific properties that give each leather its own character. Tanneries that use vegetable tanning rely on extracts of mimosa, quebracho, and chestnut.
We also require our partners to comply with durability tests (including the Veslic test), which guarantee the longevity of our creations.
At Carré Royal, we always prefer quality over trends.
Finally, our products strictly comply with the European Union’s REACH standards and are packaged in grey boxes made from recycled paper.
